Sochi Dogs Ukraine Fund
At the start of the invasion, Sochi Dogs organized the evacuation of dogs and cats from Kyiv to Poland and Germany and provided food and supplies to shelters taking animals from the front lines.
Today we are working in close partnership with the Dnipro Shelter. Located in central Ukraine, the Dnipro shelter is home to nearly 200 dogs and cats. The shelter runs a 24-hour emergency hot-line and takes in animals from the city, the surrounding villages, and serves as a central
hub for animals evacuating from eastern Ukraine.
Working together in 2024:
- We've spayed/neutered nearly 2,000 in 2024.
- Put in a well which provided the shelter with running water. Since the start of the invasion, much of the city has been without running water.
- Improved the quality of life of disabled dogs, many of them rescued from the front-line, by constructing a designated area where they can roam freely between a heated enclosure and a padded outdoor space.
On a continuous basis we are:
- Rescuing and rehabilitating hundreds of dogs by covering their vet bills.
- Supporting the evacuation of animals from the front-lines.
- Providing essential vaccinations and preventative care for shelter animals.
- Preventing animals from being born on the street through active spay/neuter initiatives.
- Finding homes for homeless and abandoned dogs across the US and Europe.
