Lulu tragedy

The past 24 hours have been a whirlwind. Yesterday we woke up to alarming news — a dog had fallen into a nearby canal and was scrambling to survive. There was no-one around who could help.

Our team rushed out and arrived to find the dog fighting against current. She couldn’t move her back legs and she couldn't climb out. We jumped into action to organize an emergency rescue operation to pull the dog, now named Lulu to safety. Unclear about what had happened to Lulu, we drove her to vet. An X-ray showed an injury on her 4th lumbar vertebrae and on top of that she had a high fever.

Lulu is beautiful lab-mix who is so grateful to be safe and we are determined to do everything we can for her. At this point, we are anticipating an extensive surgery that may give her the chance to walk again and a lengthy rehabilitation process. We need all the support we can get to care for Lulu right now.
Thank you and we’ll keep everyone updated as Lulu's treatment is finalized in the coming days.

RESCUE NEWS: Mom and her 5 puppies Saved!

Yesterday we rescued a mom and her 5 puppies. The whole family was thrown out like garbage in the woods and left to fend for themselves after the mom gave birth. We named the mom Peach, for her loving, kind nature. She was hungry and very tired, but so happy to see us. Peach is a smart girl and quickly understood that we were there to rescue her, otherwise, she would have no chance of surviving.

Peach was so grateful to be rescued, she smiled and even gave kisses! The whole family loved the car ride to the foster home!

Peach and her 5 puppies are safe now, with Lena and Pavel, our extraordinary foster family. They got a bath, a big meal and now they are relaxing, but our work has just begun. They will get multiple vet visits, deworming treatments, nutritious food, vaccinations and lots of puppy pads. We need your help to care for Peach and her babies. No amount is too small and every dollar goes to helping Peach and her puppies grow into happy, healthy dogs.

Update on Maya

We are back at the vet with Maya. Her stitches started to split and it looks like the surgical site may have gotten infected. We are waiting to go in to to see the vet and we'll post updates as soon as we get them. If you can, please help Maya fight to walk again by contributing to her medical fund.

Maya's Fight To Survive

Like many of our rescues, we recently found Maya on the side of a busy highway after she had been hit by a car. She had managed to prop herself up, but she was unable to move and was in severe pain. Her injuries were very serious but this little girl is a fighter and we were determined to do everything we could to help her.

We're thrilled to report that after a gruelling near 4-hour surgery last week, during which Maya had special plates inserted into her hind legs, Maya is on course to make a full recovery.

Every day she is getting stronger, and showing us her sweet, loving personality. But Maya still has a long way to go.
