Peach and her 5 puppies - The Rescue Story Continues

Do you remember this mom and 5 puppies that were found in the woods? Here is the second part of their rescue story:

The mom who was found hungry, tired and scared became an absolutely gorgeous dog, our Peach! Smart, loving, and incredibly affectionate Peach was adopted in NJ where she is loved and spoiled.

Her one puppy was adopted in St. Peterburg, his name is Duke now. Duke has a furry sibling and a little boy who loves him very much.

Now we need to find homes for Duke’s four sisters. They have many things in common, they are beautiful, smart, friendly, loving, playful, cheerful and all have gigantic ears. They are practically identical except for their ears!

Sochi Dogs Reunion 2019

Every year Sochi Dog adopters gather for a reunion in Morristown, NJ. Families come from all over the east coast to watch their rescue dogs reunite with siblings and shelter friends. Its a real celebration of what Sochi Dogs is all about. It was just months ago that some of these dogs were fighting to survive on the streets, and now they have people who love. It’s our adopters, supporters, and incredible volunteer team who makes this possible.

We are one month old!

When we rescued these two sisters they were just few days old. They hadn’t even opened their eyes, when they were tossed out in a paper bag outside a grocery store. Today we celebrated their one-month birthday! They are two adorable, sweet and very lucky puppies. In five months they will be ready for adoption but there is lots of work to be done first: they need to be fed every few hours, they need more puppy pads than we can count, vaccinations, vet exams, and of course spaying. We will do everything for them but we need help. A $30 gift sponsors the stay of one of these puppies at the shelter for an entire month. $20, provides one vaccination, $10, provides food for a week. Every little bit helps! Join us in giving these puppies the future they deserve.

Do You Remember Kohanna?

It’s hard to imagine that these two pictures are of the same dog, Kohanna taken just ten months apart.

When we rescued Kohanna she had a broken neck after she had been beaten and dragged to a river to be drowned.

After a complicated surgery and long, very difficult 10 months of rehabilitation process, Kohana found her forever home in NJ. Her family says “We renamed Kohanna Bandit and she’s doing great! ” Bandit loves to play in the yard with her k-9 sibling, another Sochi Dog and cuddle up on the couch after a long day with her boys.

We are so incredibly grateful for the support of our community and Masha’s incredible dedication. Masha had driven out to rescue Kohana when we first got the call and she spent hours by her side day and night - checking in on her after surgery, giving her medication, feeding her through a tube, cleaning up after her and taking her to numerous vet appointments.
