We are without water.

It’s been a long Monday at the shelter! We’re without water again. The hot summer had left the well completely dry, and the town water has been shut off for the entire region. Other parts of the town are getting water delivered by the town however the shelter is so far way and up a dirt road that no-one can get to us so we have go out and get our own water to make sure the dogs stay hydrated. This is our third haul!

Goooood morning from Lulu!

Guess who is excited to go for a walk? Lulu!

Have you ever seen a happier dog? Lulu has been through a lot - she was homeless, survived a terrible accident that help her paralyzed, and had multiple surgeries. And despite all of these hardships she wakes up every day with so much excitement and enthusiasm. This is how she greets Masha when Masha asks her if she is ready to go on a walk.

Let’s all try to be a little more like Lulu.

What’s in a Crate?

Sochi dogs fly in airline-approved crates to their forever homes. It’s a long journey from Sochi, to Moscow, and then to JFK International Aiport in New York City. Ever wonder what happens to those crates afterward?

The Sochi Dogs team in NJ sends these crates all the way back from New York to Sochi. This not only helps save costs but also is much more environmentally friendly. If you would like to donate a crate to the shelter or fly your dog we recommend choosing among one of these airline approved pet carriers.

Remember baby King?

Remember baby King who we rescued at the very start of the pandemic? He grew - and now we have a big King! There is no way baby King would have survived on the streets on his own. And now big King will never have to, because once he is ready we’ll make sure he has a loving human to call his own.
