CDC Dog Import Ban Restrictions Loosened

We are thrilled to announce that the CDC has loosened its restrictions on the importation of dogs into the United States.

Thank you so much to our partners at the Animal Wellness Alliance who worked tirelessly to make this happen, everyone who called and wrote to their representatives, and signed our petition.

All these efforts have paid off! The new CDC guidelines make it significantly more difficult and expensive to bring dogs into the country, but that won't stop us from jumpstarting our adoption programs.

Rescue Mission: Ukraine

Asya is an awesome dog who needs our help! Asya has been down on her luck: at the beginning of the war Asya’s family left Kyiv and asked their neighbors to care for her, as the war intensified the neighbors left too and Asya was all alone until she was picked up by rescuers. Last week, we found an adopter for her but they fell through. Asya is looking for a home in the EU. Sochi Dogs will provide transport. She is only a year and a half, very outgoing, loves to play, and snuggle. She is terrific with other dogs and would make someone very happy. If you are in the EU and want to adopt please send us DM or fill out an application here: sochidogs.org/dogsfromukraine

Rescue Mission: Ukraine Update

Mikki wants to thank everyone who helped sponsor his trip out of Ukraine! He is safe in a foster home in Germany where everyone is giving him lots of attention. He is going to the vet to get his eyes treated and once he is feeling better, he’ll find his forever home. Thank you! We have ten more dogs just like him urgently looking to get out and we are looking for a shelter or foster homes to take them in.

Rescue Mission: Ukraine

Margo, Keks, Mikki, and 18 other dogs are on their way out of Ukraine!

Margo, who is 8 and lost her family as a result of the war now has a chance to find a loving home.

Keks, who was a puppy picked up on the streets of Irpin won't have to worry about scary loud sounds.

And blind Mikki, who was pulled from an overcrowded shelter that needed to be evacuated will have a person to guide him.

Thank you to everyone who made this mission possible!
