Advisory Board Member Overview

Sochi Dogs is an international organization rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding homes for stray and abandoned dogs from Eastern Europe and South Korea.

We are a vibrant community of problem-solvers, dog-lovers, and change-makers who believe every dog deserves a home and work hard every day for a kinder and more compassionate future.

Since our founding during the 2014 Olympic Games, Sochi Dogs has developed partnerships with rescue organizations in Ukraine, Georgia, Russia, Bulgaria, Latvia, and South Korea.

Our work is focused on:

  • Eliminating the suffering of homeless animals through large-scale spay/neuter programs.

  • Providing funding for veterinary assistance and large shelter upgrades for our rescue partners

  • Finding forever families for dogs in the US.

  • Assisting with emergency rescues and evacuations.

We are looking for enthusiastic board members to join our advisory board.

Board members are asked to:

  • Attend and participate in quarterly virtual meetings to help set goals and guide the organization forward

  • Provide advice and guidance to the organization in their area of expertise. (~4 hours a month)

  • Make a “personally significant” contribution to the organization financially, intellectually, or otherwise

We would love to hear from you if you have expertise in any of the following:

  • International development, especially as it relates to domestic animals

  • Running, organizing, or participating in large-scale spay/neuter initiatives

  • Initiating a mid/major donor fundraising program

  • Experience with federal policy change and/or developing advocacy campaigns

If you are a passionate dog-lover looking to make an impact through our small but mighty organization we would love to hear from you!
