Sochi has a rather temperate climate but this winter has been especially cold with lots freezing rain and snow. Our shelter is up to capacity so in an effort to protect streets dog from the elements we’ve put a couple of dog houses in out of the way locations.
Dogs have been coming and going from these locations. A few days ago we noticed this mama dog and her three puppies taking shelter in the house we step up on a beach. The mama dog, Abby was likely abandoned after she gave birth to the litter of three. We couldn’t bare to watch her struggling in the cold so we are thrilled to report she is warm, fed, and cared for at our shelter. Her puppies have been placed in foster homes until they are old enough and more room opens up for them at the shelter.
