Goooood morning from Lulu!

Guess who is excited to go for a walk? Lulu!

Have you ever seen a happier dog? Lulu has been through a lot - she was homeless, survived a terrible accident that help her paralyzed, and had multiple surgeries. And despite all of these hardships she wakes up every day with so much excitement and enthusiasm. This is how she greets Masha when Masha asks her if she is ready to go on a walk.

Let’s all try to be a little more like Lulu.

What’s in a Crate?

Sochi dogs fly in airline-approved crates to their forever homes. It’s a long journey from Sochi, to Moscow, and then to JFK International Aiport in New York City. Ever wonder what happens to those crates afterward?

The Sochi Dogs team in NJ sends these crates all the way back from New York to Sochi. This not only helps save costs but also is much more environmentally friendly. If you would like to donate a crate to the shelter or fly your dog we recommend choosing among one of these airline approved pet carriers.

Remember baby King?

Remember baby King who we rescued at the very start of the pandemic? He grew - and now we have a big King! There is no way baby King would have survived on the streets on his own. And now big King will never have to, because once he is ready we’ll make sure he has a loving human to call his own.

Lulu is on the move!

Earlier this year you may recall Lulu had gotten a sore on her leg from running around too much. With her legs paralyzed and dangling from her chair, they were prohibiting her movement and the sore was getting infected. Our team made the difficult decision to have both of Lulu’s back limbs amputated.

Thanks to the help of our community we were able to get Lulu the first surgery she needed in July and after a few weeks of recovery she had her second surgery. For the past few days Lulu has been resting in the special kennel we built for her but now that she feels much better and she is back with the old gang!

We are so happy Lulu is feeling better and incredibly grateful to everyone who made these procedures possible for her.
